Description: Charles Perdew Mallard Drake with original and working paint both by his wife Edna Perdew. Very nice detail on back which is what separated Charlie's decoys from the ones painted by Edna. Detailed combing on sides. It measures 17 inches long, hollow carved with glass eyes. Light coat of varnish with original Perdew weight on the bottom. The provenance is from Harold Haertel's collection and the base shows the Haertel collection stamp (see photo). The decoy was used for hunting and show light gunning wear with some flaking and slight paint loss on bill. The decoy is structurally excellent and a very fine example of an early Perdew mallard with exceptional paint by Edna Perdew.
