Description: Blossoms-Gary-Orange Liquid Filled Clear Vinyl Record (Bad World/Blood Records) Blossoms 5th album ‘Gary’ comes pressed to exclusive orange liquid LP via Bad World. The record is titled after an 8 foot fibre glass gorilla which was stolen from a Lanarkshire Garden Centre in early 2023, and since then there has been a campaign to locate him, his rear end was recently found, but his front is still missing! The record is produced by J Lloyd (Jungle) and James Skelly and features singles What Can I Say After I'm Sorry, Perfect Me and Gary Liquid filled LPs are not new, but the existing production methods mean that very few people can actually own them. Most are made using two lathe-cut sides of an LP which are then glued together by hand with a plastic spacer and liquids (of varying quality) are then injected into the cavity. The problem with this, aside from inconsistencies in quality and sealing, is that they’re incredibly laborious to make, expensive and manufactured usually in very small runs of less than 50 units with worst sound quality than the existing format. After 18 months of development Bad World has been able to solve these problems, manufacturing the records at scale using industrial processes and pressing the records using traditional presses, meaning the same great sound quality you’d expect from an LP and industrial sealing processes to ensure no leaks. It’s so cool! I love this record! The last picture shows that there is a little crack in the plastic cover where the vinyl rubs. It just has worn there but that’s how it came.
