Description: This jewelry or trinket box features beautiful Mother of Pearl/Abalone Shell Inlaid in a blacklacquer box with an intricate floral design. This box closes with a butterfly turning clasp. The box opens to reveal four inlaid drawers. The drawers each measure appropriately 2 5/8" wide x 3" long x 1" deep. Each drawer bottom is lined with red flocked fabric. The overall size of the entire jewelry box is about 6 3/4" wide x 3 3/4" x 3 1/2" tall.It is in very good condition with very minor scuffing to the black lacquer. The bottom has 4 foot pads to keep the bottom from being scratched. There are no notable chips, cracks or missing shell pieces. The box has a very faint marking from the maker. Please see photos. I am attributing it to being made in Korea, as it is very similar in style and technique to known Korean inlay art called Najeonchilgi. Thanks for looking!
