Description: This high quality, classic mantel clock by Le Coultre, Swiss features a unique 15 jewel, self-winding movement. It was invented in 1928 and is powered by small changes in atmospheric temperature. Its serial number is 38651 and was made in 1951. This handsome clock is an exceptional value. It is from my personal collection and was recently overhauled. The clock is running well, keeps time and is guaranteed for 2 years against faulty material and workmanship. The handsome brass and gold flashed case and base have few minor age blemishes as has the black lacquered Lucite door panel, with exquisitely carved and gilded images. The door stays closed by way of a designed interference or friction fit, and when completely closed, takes considerable pull to open. For this reason I have always closed it halfway. Side and rear panels are in very good condition as are the dial, numerals, hands, pendulum and balance wheel lock. This clock is an exceptional value. Dimension are in inches: Height 9 1/4, width 8 1/4, depth 6 1/2. . I' m a Certified Clock & Watchmaker and have been repairing/restoring timepieces for over 30 years. I stock a number of Hermle, Kieninger, Urgos, Regula and Jauch movements, including vintage and antique clocks--ask for what's currently available.
