Description: Fresh from the estate of a collector, I offer this 1920's era Evans Decoy, stamped on bottom. Sits on custom built cherry wood base. Mallard measures approximately 17 1/2" long from tail to tip of bill, and 8 5/8" tall. Has nice original paint and reddish eyes. To me, the paint looks old and possibly original. Overall patina is uniform and the light green appears to have been a primer. Were flourishes added later? If it were years ago, perhaps. Past owner obviously held it in high regard to have a special base made for it. (mrd)
