Description: April 21, 1912 photo of two polar bears. Photo was taken by Elwin R. Sanborn, the first official photographer for the New York Zoological Park, now known as the Bronx Zoo. Photo has marks from editing on image and some wear / creasing at edges and corners. Curls a bit but will lie flat under weight. Two small pinholes on upper left hand corner. Measures 6.75 x 9 inches. This comes from a lot of press photos from the New York Tribune during the teens/WWI area - I’ll be listing others related to stage/film and much more over the next month or so. Happy to combine shipping if you buy other photos from me, just let me know!
