Description: For your consideration is this antique postcard. There is no publisher mark present, but "Series No. 68" is printed on the back. The front side of the card bears a lovely bouquet of gladiolus and ferns against a gold background. In the upper right hand corner it reads "Don't worry about the future, The present is all thou hast; The future will soon be present, And the present will soon be past.". The backside bears a 1¢ stamp and was postmarked in Brookhaven, Mississippi on May 19, 1909. It was addressed to Miss Lucy Warren of Forest, Mississippi. The standard size (5.5" x 3.5") postcard is in good overall condition with some edge wear and slight discoloration to the white portions....common for paper of this age. Such a lovely piece of ephemera.Note: I treat all my postcards with archival safe solvents to clean and neutralize any foxing that might be present.
