Description: This listing is for an antique original hand-drawn piece of architectural artwork, featuring a beautiful gothic altar from a church or other place of worship. It is in both pencil & colored pencil or watercolor with gold accent, and has great unfaded colors & a very visually stimulating style. This piece is also interesting in the way it is drawn as it has a “cutaway style” where it goes from sketch to complete. It is very cool to see this piece going from a light sketch to a completed work. Due to the fact this is a hand drawn original, likely an artist’s proof / sketch for project approval sort of deal, it is very likely a one of a kind unique piece of art. . Based upon the style, and the other worls this piece was found with, I believe it was drawn sometime in the 1890-1920 range. I am unsure of what building this altar belonged to, it was sourced from an estate in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, which has a wealth of architectural heritage. It came with 3 other neat architectural designs, which are also listed, these are signed by one “ Chaulers” or some similar name. The colors & style are timeless on this piece, and it has such a classic roman / greek / byzantine look. It is perfect for gifting, display, collectors, & more. This piece comes framed as it was found. As you can see, it was longer than the frame, and rather than cutting it, I and the previous owners left it as is. It could potentially be reframed & matted, up to the buyers preferences. Comes as is, as shown. Please see photos for details & measurements.
