Description: Photo of seated young actor in a production of "Two Little Sailor Boys". Card exhibits flaking and delamination of paper material near card edges. Inscribed photo appears to be dated May 19, 1904 (it could also be read as 1907), and it shows some deterioration related to time. Nashville, Tennessee embossment in lower right corner. Card has a slight waviness, but it lays nearly flat. No offensive odor. There is not much information available about the play itself, other than it opened on Broadway in New York City May 2, 1904. The song "Two Little Boys" published in 1903 by lyricist Edward Madden and composer Theodore Morse may or may not be thematically involved. The song is a sentimental piece which describes two friends who played war as children and a dramatic battlefield rescue which occurs when they have grown to be soldiers. In 1906 Madden wrote the lyrics to the song "Two little sailor Boys". The song is different, but it also makes reference to the possibility of a rescue.
