Antique 18thC Capodimonte Porcelain Soft Paste Fruit Scene Beaker Cup Italian

Description: For sale is a rare beaker shaped cup made by Capodimonte in about 1750 . It is made of soft paste porcelain has a hand painted baroque fruit scene to the front. These scenes are known as natura morta and are often associated with the painter Giovanni Caselli though I do not know if he painted this cup. The scene is of native Neapolitan fruit surrounded by a gilt landscape. Gold trim to the inside and edges. Capodimonte porcelain from this period is exceedingly rare and even though this piece is heavily restored it is still worth owning as an example since most us can't afford an perfect piece. The piece is 3 inches tall and has a diameter of 2.875 inches at the top. It is marked underneath with the blue fleur de lis mark of Capo di Monte which is not something you see often at all! These are often messy and this one here is barely decipherable as a fleur de lis. The piece displays nicely but was broken into many pieces and restored with most of the gilding painted over afterwards. I think it could be done better but is probably not worth redoing since it would be quite costly! I tried to show the damage by shining a bright light through the porcelain and taking some pictures that way.
