Description: Beautiful hand carved wooden long face mask. Wooden mask length is 10". Total length with grass "beard" is 19". This was purchased from an estate auction that was filled with many African masks and statues so I will be posting several pieces from this collection. I did some research on the estate and it appears the estate owner was a Stanford graduate in African Studies. He went to work 24 years in the State Department serving in U.S. Embassies in Belgium, Gabon, Togo, Iceland, Australia, and Indonesia in a variety of functions including assistance to American business men and women, supporting trade missions from the 1960s to 80.
