Description: Acacia riceana Only one available. Very rare in the US, this variable shrub or small tree will sometimes be erect to 24', and sometimes it will be pendulous or even prostrate. The plant I am offering was started from my own tree which is tall and gracefully pendant. The plants have rigid, pointed, dark green phyllodes to 2" (usually much less, as in this one) and, in spring to summer, small, cream-colored, rod-shaped flowers appear, followed by small, twisted, bean-like pods. Naturally occurring in Tasmania, this beauty (though prickly) is adaptable in both coastal and inland situations. Mine are growing among the Redwoods, in cool, moist, northern California, in deep shade, and are very happy. Flowering is not prolific with this species, until mature, yet the pendulous branches are highly ornamental in their own right. Grow in full sun to full shade, in moisture retentive soil - will even accept clay soils. Hardy zones 9 and above. Protect from hard frost when young. Among my favorite Acacias! This offering is for one young, well-rooted and established seedling plant in a 3 1/4" pot - the exact plant seen in the last photo. Ready to be planted into a 1-gallon pot, or directly in the ground (preferred). I have been collecting and cultivating rare and exotic plants for nearly 50 years, and I take pride in what I grow and sell here on ebay. All photos are of plants in my own collection - unless stated otherwise. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING - SORRY - I ONLY SHIP TO THE US. I do combine shipping for multiple items - please request a new shipping total before checking out. Please Note: requesting combined shipping can not be done on a phone - the request must be made from a computer. (For some reason, the ebay phone app doesn't allow it. ) I automatically combine shipping for multiple orders - Before ordering, please read all information under the STORE POLICIES section, regarding Shipping and Handling Fees and Combined Shipping. Thank you! Upon arrival of the seeds/cutting/plant, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I want you to be happy with your purchase and to have the greatest success in its cultivation! Robert
