Description: THE LAST PRECIOUS FEW PIPES Now it’s time to part with the favorites - like the Ashtons by Bill Taylor RARE 1986 Genuine Bill Taylor era (First 4 Years) Ashton XX Canadian with deep ridged Sandblast Ring Grain with Cumberland mouthpiece in EXCELLENT CONDITION in original Box & Sleeve From 1983-2009 The Ashton Pipe company creator Bill Taylor made WONDERFUL looking and incredible English briars that are so fabulously good smokers, thus highly collectible to this day. Ashton pipes continues with Jimmy Craig so Ashton’s tradition of fine English pipes continues. But Bill Taylor pipes are special especially early ones like this one. This pipe is dated 1986 and ring grains are reasonably rare. In addition, this is the fairly rare XX size that weighs only 1.22 ounces. And I am always a sucker for those Cumberland stems. The Relief grain of the pipe is outstanding. Check out the grain on all sides of the bowl and shank. Dunhill would be jealous! It has a stunning Cumberland Fishtail stem. There is only a minor amount of rim char, and no teeth chatter. Its dimensions are: LENGTH: 5-3/4 inches HEIGHT: 2 inches thick WIDTH: 1-3/8 inches CHAMBER DIAMETER: 13/16 inch WEIGHT : 1.22 oz XX size (making it a Dunhill group 3 or 4) Marked XX Ashton PEBBLE GRAIN Made In England 6 ORIGINAL BOX AND SLEEVE.
