Description: 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger 340 (LM23P9B338xxx) factory 340c.i. car with the numbers matching original engine. This beautiful restored 340 Dart has an excellent shifting 727 automatic transmission, stunning B5 Blue paint, 8 ¾ rear with 3.55 gears, factory drum brakes, white interior, front end sway bar, factory black vinyl top, original factory 340 hood with inserts, wheel lip moldings, restored Rallye Wheels with new Cooper Cobra tires, dual exhaust with correct 340 chrome tips, stunning high gloss B-5 Blue base/clear paint, factory 340 white trunk stripe, original fender tag and a newer restored factory dash gauge cluster. This is an extremely nice restored 340 Dart that has many of it’s correct factory items including: factory original air cleaner, radiator (2949066), intake (2531915), exhaust manifolds (2863553 LH & 2863549 RH) and factory original 340 “X” heads with 2.02 intake valves and original numbers matching 340 engine. The Dart has it’s original VIN tag, fender tag, and correct radiator support VIN sequential number. This is an absolutely beautiful car and one of the nicest number matching 1969 340 Darts that you will find in this price range. Most of the restoration was done around 8 years ago and I just recently freshened up the engine bay, wet sanded, buffed paint, tires, wheels, brakes and many other items just finished!!! Paint and body The body is in excellent shape and the panels are very straight. The doors close absolutely beautiful and be push shut with the ease of your finger! The super high-gloss deep clear coat shine was just professionally wet sanded with 1500, 2000 and 2500 grit paper to achieve a high caliber ultra finish. This long process alone took over 60 hours and the finish shows it! The Darts sheet metal is believed to be mostly original including the doors, fenders, hood, trunk lid, floor boards, trunk floor, frame and even center of the trunk floor is excellent! The rear quarters were changed I believe when the Dart was painted and a few inches up on the inside of the lower trunk extensions. The Dart was painted around 10 years ago and has no paint blisters or bubbles and looks fantastic. The bottom rocker panels are also in excellent shape, very clean, not full of bondo. The paint in the jams, underneath the hood and engine bay is also very nice! GLASS, CHROME AND TRIM The glass is in extremely nice original condition and is original Chrysler date coded glass with the exception of the front windshield is newer and is factory tint glass. There are only a few very small minor scratches on the side rear glass. The windows operate as should and line up excellent. The bumpers are in excellent restored condition and the front original grill is in very nice shape. The door handles and driver side mirror are newer and in excellent condition. The trim is very clean and was polished for optimum shine. The black vinyl top is newer and in excellent shape as well as all the vinyl top trim pieces. INTERIOR The interior was also re-done several years ago with a new package tray, carpet, door panels, headliner, visors, dash pad and seat covers and still look excellent. All the factory gauges work and operate correctly. All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, dome light, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, four-way flashers and license plate light. The factory AM thumbwheel radio works but not perfect and has a new bezel plate. The E-brake, defrosters, heater, fan and horn all work as should. DRIVE TRAIN / SUSPENSION The excellent running numbers matching 340 makes good power and runs great! The 340 is believed to be rebuilt several years ago by the previous owners and is pretty much stock. Maybe a small bump up on the cam but mostly stock build. The 340 runs, drives and sounds great and I would drive this car anywhere! It is topped off with the original factory cast iron intake # 2531915 and a Edelbrock 600 cfm 4-barrel carb with electric choke. The numbers matching 340 has a casting date of 12-10-68 and the ID Badge has the last 8 of the VIN# stamped on it # 9B338xxx. The engine block casting number is 2780930-340. The 727 transmission was also rebuilt several years ago and shifts beautifully through all gears. The 8 ¾ appears to also be original to the car and was also restored and has a 741 center section with 3.55 gears and is a non sure grip unit. This excellent drive train combo runs and drives awesome in all conditions whether highway or city driving. All the suspension appears to have been removed, cleaned and painted several years ago. The K-member, upper and lower control arms, torsion bars, rear end etc… are all painted and look very clean and nice shape. The front end was basically done like a rotisserie car. The front frame rails were cleaned and painted, suspension parts painted and the insides of the front fenders are even painted body color. There was also a front sway bar added for better handling.
