He acted as guide for an Army Helicopter aiding marooned families with food and fuel to last out the emergency. 1958 New York was hit by multiple snowstorms in 1958, including a nor'easter in February and a storm in December: February 14–17, 1958This nor'easter began over the southern Rockies and moved up the eastern seaboard. Snowfall started on the night of February 15 and continued through the 16th. The storm brought heavy snow bands that dropped 1–2 inches of snow per hour.
