Description: Extraordinary Glass acorn shaped pendant light. The light shade is a masterpiece of glass blowing and is a lobed vertical pillar form with each lobe having hundreds of carefully placed bubble inclusions the overall effect of which resembles a zipper. The pointed end of the shade is beautifully finished with a star cut. Many glass makers have produced similar zippered effect wares including William Yeoward, Baccarat, Stevens & Williams etc but all of these although similar, are actually cut rather than being bullicante. I have been unable to identify the maker of this shade but am fairly confident that this level of skill points to a master glass blower in Murano and going by my research, possibly Ercole Barovier circa 1940s. The glass component is in excellent undamaged condition and has been fitted with a new chrome gallery, chain and bulb holder. It also comes complete and ready to hang with a chrome ceiling hook. Overall drop from ceiling hook to base of glass shade is approx 580mm, could be shortened by taking some links out. Bulb not included. Glass acorn is 140mm long overall and the outside diameter of the opening is 82mm. More lighting in Sellers other items.
