Description: 1938 LC Smith Super Speed Silent typewriter with tabulator and 11" carriage. Serial # S1399567B 11This is a really nice typewriter in exceedingly good condition. I removed side and rear panels cleaned-out the large dust balls, etc. then used compressed air to get all loose dirt/dust out of it. Put the panels back on and did some gentle wiping of the exterior. The original rubber feet are still soft and pliable.Only issues I see are minor surface wear on the exterior (nothing you would not expect on an 86 year old machine), one letter (either Z or X) sticks a bit, and the spacebar was broken (someone had wrapped it with electrical tape; I removed and super-glued it).I would suggest a new ribbon and having it professionally cleaned/tuned-up although you will probably be happy with just a new ribbon. That's it!!!
