Description: Case Vitreous China Wall-Hung Sink With Chrome LegsCirca: 1930s This sink is in very nice overall condition given the age, with no damage and few blemishes to be found. Although there isno crazing and no blemishes that really stand out, and the fact that the scratches mentioned are nearly invisible, this iswhat was found to point out from top to bottom: The top horizontal at the back is very good overall. There is what is leftof a fine line to the left. Most of it was removed, but we didn't want to get any more aggressive for fear of scratchingthe sink. The rest is fine with only the slightest scratches present. There is a small indent on the right that was notnoticed until the pictures were being processed. This is a result of the manufacturing process and is "built into" thesink. Most of the time we remove the faucet handles and spout as they are too deteriorated to include. In this case,they look good with chrome that is in relatively good shape. Although they have not been recently tested with water,the handles' movement feels correct. The vertical section where the faucet it attached is fine, save for another "line"under the spout, that may be removable with more effort. The rest is free of any damage or scratches. The two endpieces are very good with only some very fine scratches. The horizontal area running around the bowl has lightscratches and the only small chips found anywhere on the entire sink. These are on the right side, near thefront, one residing at the top lip of the bowl. They are shallow, and the largest of these measures 0.13". Thecondition of the interior of the bowl stands out as it is virtually blemish free and has a nice glossy finish topto bottom. The Case stopper is very good overall. There are some small dents on the top surface, otherwiseit is better than average for the age, with chrome that nearly free of the typical pitting and flaking. The metalflange at the bottom has some slight corrosion on the outside edge, otherwise it is good, and the pipe it isattached to may not be original, as it is in much better condition than we normally find. The outside sidesand front of the sink are damage free and have some light scratches on the edges that are not visibleunless the light hits them right. The entire bottom of the sink is fine. The only mark found looks tobe a result of the manufacturing process. The chrome legs are new Jones - Stephens replicas ofthe style used on sinks of this age. They are not blue. That is the protective covering. We havea supply of wall brackets, but since they are all "Standard" brand and the fact that they aredesigned for cast iron sinks with two tabs to support the sink, as opposed to one longersection, the same day that the sink is purchased, a new bracket will be ordered andsent to the buyer. So what you will receive is a rare original antique Case sink invery good condition with a new wall bracket and new chrome legs that arereplicas of the ones from this period, minus the pitting and dullness oftentimes found.
