Description: FIRST EDITION, FIRST PRINTING (stated), published by The Gordon Volland Publications of Minneapolis, MN, in 1928. A VERY NICE COPY OF A SCARCE AND BEAUTIFULLY ILLUSTRATED CHILDREN'S BOOK. While exploring their grandmother's attic, Janey happily shows her brother a lovely doll tucked in among the old things, which had a pocketed apron containing a cardboard kitten and the initials "L.L." In this delightful, scarce book, we follow the adventures of the children at Merrywell Cottage & their dolls. Wonderfully illustrated in color and black & white by John Rae who also wrote this and many other children's books. Board covers with moderate to heavy corner and top/bottom spine wear, light edge wear, clean and bright with a lightly sunned spine. No interior marks of any kind, no endpaper cracking on colorful front and rear endpapers. All pages bound but a few spots of light cracking at spine seen. There is a small tear on last leaf of book - see listing photo. B25
