Description: 1864 3vol Nests & Eggs Of British Birds by F.O. Morris Antiquarian Book Set A Natural History Of The Nests & Eggs Of British BirdsBy The Rev. F.O. MorrisPublished by Groombridge And Sons: London 18643 Volume Set "Francis Orpen Morris (1810 – 1893) was an Anglo-Irish clergyman, notable as "parson-naturalist" (ornithologist and entomologist) and as the author of many children's books and books on natural history and heritage buildings. He was a pioneer of the movement to protect birds from the plume trade and was a co-founder of the Plumage League. He died on 10 February 1893 and was buried at Nunburnholme, East Riding of Yorkshire, England." This set was previously described by another bookseller as "very fine". We are taking a more conservative approach however this is a truly stunning 3 volume set. The covers and spines show only minor wear. There are no signatures, marks or stamps. The hinges are all in good shape. There is the odd minor age spot as shown on the title page of volume 3. Some ageing to the very edge of the top of some pages. All 3 books present beautifully and are a wonderful examples of this desirable publication from 1864. Please study photos to understand condition. Happy to provide more photos on request.
