Volume three only. In fair condition. Covers and spine have some age-related wear and toning, and the corners of covers are bent inwards. Ex-library from the Belles Lettres Society with the information on the front inside cover, check out information on the back inside cover, and the Dewey Decimal number on the bottom of the spine written in white ink. Some pencil inscriptions and drawings at the beginning and end of the volume from a previous owner, and a number stamped onto the first page after the title page. Title page is torn from the bottom half. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges are worn, but pages remain attached with support. No comparable. Please see photographs and any questions prior to purchasing. This volume was originally published in the Public Ledger one entry at a time. Goldsmith uses a fictional character, a Chinese traveller named Lien Chi, to provide commentary on English life and morals. This is volume three only.
