Description: 12.5" Frankoma Pottery Medium Willow Leaf Dish #226Patina Green, c. 1950s This is the medium "willow leaf" bowl # 226, made by Frankoma Pottery. I believe this glaze is "Patina," with a dark brown base with the wonderful silvery green overlay, I believe likely dating to the 1970s. The clay is the (redder) Sapulpa. (I originally decided the glaze was Prairie Green-Rutile, but the brown is much darker than the golden brown I usually see on Prairie Green Frankoma.)The dish measures 12.25 inches long, 6.5 inches at the widest, and 2.25 inches high at the tip of the handle. This vintage piece is in very good to excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, or other flaws that I can find. It sits on seven small pedestal feet. The detail is richly defined, and the glaze is thick and nicely colored. There is an impressed mark on the bottom for "Frankoma / 226."Please note that some of the photos were taken with flash, which makes the colors more intense. I'm in Chicago--we haven't had enough sunlight to photograph in natural light in months!
